diablo3

Finally it has been announced, the speculation about whether a Diablo3 was in the works, or when a Diablo 3 might be released has been silenced. Personally I’m overjoyed, as I played both Diablo, and Diablo2 to death and loved every minute of it. I’m very anxious to see how Diablo3 pans out.

The latest sequel will be a 3D hack and slash with an isometric view, with at least one familiar class — the Barbarian, an interface with health and mana bubbles. The game world will have destructible environments and quest or story events, “more so than previous games.” Alongside the old (yet new) Barbarian class is the new Witch Doctor class, with spells and a pet mechanic. Diablo 3 will also see the return of Deckard Cain, one of Diablo’s most popular characters.

Fingers crossed.

I haven’t posted lately, as you may have noticed.

I have had a lot going on at home, at work, and with my fiancee. It was definetely a good idea that I have a break, some time to relax and sort myself out, so here’s what I’ve been up to:

Real Life

  1. Work has picked up exponentially. I’ve started getting involved in much larger projects, and have had to create a new database for internal quotations and orders. I’m finding that I have less time to scratch myself each day, sigh.
  2. The place that my fiancee was working for tried to cut her hours from 40 to 20, and we just couldn’t live off that, so we had to find her another job.
  3. I have moved house recently. New location, new flatmates .. very refreshing

WoW Life

  1. During the above events I took a 5week break from raiding.
  2. The guild had it’s bank ninja’d by a member who decided that they did not want to play the game anymore. They took everything and gave it to their brother on alliance side.
  3. We also lost 3 / 4 healers to the guild who’re more progressed than us, which has stalled things a little.
  4. We have killed Kalecgos  with the demon still at 11 / 12% a few times, hopefully he’ll be down shortly.

Hopefully I’ll be posting regularly and getting back into the swing of things, wish me luck.

Sunwell Plateau Header 1st impressions We have cleared both Hyjal and BT with relevant ease for several weeks steadily now, to be honest ever since we killed Illidan we’re yet to spend a week without clearing both .. I’ve been overcome with a warm fuzzy feeling inside when presented with the realisation that we’re now left with 2 days before our instances reset (only one being a raiding night) with nothing to do.

And by nothing to do … I mean we can sure as shit go and start experiencing Sunwell Plateau right? I thought that we may be a little undergeared, as well over 80% of our T6 drops so far have been Protector tokens, for our Warriors, Hunters and Shamans.

7:00pm

First Impression: Very Magisters Terrace’ish, as can be expected
We’re starting the trash in the first room .. Plenty of humanoids to cc

7:25pm

WoWScrnShot_042108_192130The first few pulls have gone down relatively easily. The first large courtyard is littered with mobs in misc spots, patrols walking around, and robots poised against the wall, ready to strike down anybody who enter the plateau

7:55pm

WoWScrnShot_042108_192809
We’ve wiped three times in 30minutes and gotten through one trash pull, QQ .. There’s plenty of Sunblade Protectors lining the second courtyard that chain lightning the raid for 4-5k I believe.

9:00pm

We’re doing attempts on Kalecgos, after a couple of useless wipes everybody in the raid understands how the two "realms" of the fight work

10:30pm

After a fair few attempts on Kalecgos, and reclearing the trash once for another set of attempts, I’d like to think that we could down this boss with another full night of attempts. After doing the trash several times tonight I’m sure we’ll breeze through it much quicker leaving us more time for attempts on Kalecgos. No doubt we’ll be back in there after clearing BT and Hyjal this week.

Summary of the Sunwell Situation that Surrounds us

WoWScrnShot_042108_222645
It’s exciting to be seeing more content, he trash, the Kalecgos fight itself and even the scenery in  the instance was a refreshing change from what we’ve grown accustomed to (Mt Hyjal & Black Temple are almost a second home to me now).

All in all I’m enjoying the instance and look forward to learning the new content.

P.S Congratulations on Oushi, who picked up our guilds first piece of Sunwell Plateau loot, being the Tranquil Majesty Wraps from trash.

I thought I would share some links with you that I’ve come across lately, some not entirely wow related.

  1. www.portableapps.com

-Applications scripted to run from a USB stick and save temporary files to your removable drive, rather than using registries and saving files directly to your desktop.

  2. Ten Commandments of a Raider

-10 Commandments of a raider. This holds very true, and in some respects is not something that I hold myself to 100% of the time. with that said this is the standard for acting appropriately and treating your guild / guildmates with a little bit of respect.

  3. www.photoshop.com/express

-A new online image editor from our friends at Adobe, if you’re stuck at work and need to resize or crop an image this should suit your needs perfectly. Crop, rotate, tweak, twirl and show off photos with Photoshop Express, on your blog or Facebook page. Give your friend a tragically oversized head or get rid of the mole on his cheek that’s the size of a small asteroid, it’s up to you!

 in touch

As you may or may not be aware, one of my favourite fellow blogging priests has moved to a self-hosted location, has revamped their layout, and brought on a few extra bloggers to boot.

Yes I’m talking about Egotistical Priest.

Vonya has recently moved to http://egotisticalpriest.com/ and begun blogging the growth of her Baby Priest, and Baby Hunter as both fight for her "favourite class" spot.

Currently the expected weekly posts will consist of:

  • Monday - EgoTank (Tanking and Ranting)
  • Tuesday - Ego (Tuesdays with Vonya)
  • Wednesday - Zasp (Rogue and theorycraft ahoy)
  • Thursday - Ego (Thursdays are also with Vonya)
  • Friday - Egolock (Warlock Discussionz)

If you haven’t been there and added this to your rss feed by now you need to be dragged out into the street and kicked around for a little bit …

GO THERE…..

  • A little about me:

My name is Pat, I reside on Barthilas with the guild Offline. I play a 70 UD Priest(Holy), a 70 Tauren Druid(Resto), and have recently added a 70 Hunter to the lineup. I have been playing since release where I started on Blackrock alliance, and I hope to continue playing for a long time. I love healing, I like to be the reliable person who people look for to keep their party alive. Please share your knowledge and experiences, as well as any questions, with me and anyone who may visit.
